1/72 F-105G Wild Weasel

Trumpeter's latest 1/72 kit is this very nice F-105G. Looking at the parts in the box, it seems they have correctly captured the subtle curved taper of the nose, so that's a big point in their favor. Surface detail consists of recessed panel lines and Trumpeter's trademark recessed rivets. The landing gear and afterburner detail look very good, but the cockpit relies on decals for the panels. The Vulcan cannon and retractable IFR probe can be exposed or buttoned up. Armament consists of centerline and underwing drop tanks, two AGM-78s, four AGM-45s, and two ALQ-87s, so there are plenty of options there. Speed brakes and IFR probe can be posed open or closed. Markings are for a sharkmouthed 62-4440 of the 17th WWS, 63-8321 of the 516th TFS, and 62-4444 of the 128th TFS.
