The "Grasshopper" was an interesting design, based on the Panzer IV tank chassis and mounting a 105mm Howitzer in an open-topped turret that could be lowered from the chassis and placed on the ground, or fitted with wheels to be towed like a regular field piece. It never made it to the production stage, but development lasted a year, with three prototypes being built.

Trumpeter's kit of this unusual AFV is sharply molded in gray styrene. Tracks are individual links (glue required), and photo-etched metal detail parts are included. Standard German AFV markings are provided, but there is no indication as to where they go. Real metal chains are also provided. Can be built in any of the turret configurations, but is not "transformable" after assembly.
