The LAV-R (Light Armored Vehicle-Recovery) is an all-terrain, all-weather vehicle with night capabilities. This vehicle is capable of safely uprighting overturned LAVs while minimizing any additional damage during recovery. It has the tactical mobility to reach and recover/support disabled vehicles, and is air transportable via C-130, C-141, C-5 and CH-53 E. The vehicle can be made fully amphibious in three minutes.

Trumpeter's kit of the LAV-R is sharply molded in light gray styrene with black vinyl tires. Includes flexible tubing for the crane hydraulics and a fret of photo-etched metal detail parts. Fantastic detail throughout, with particularly spectacular chassis detail.
