Like so many other amazing German aircraft, the Pfeil, too, suffered from the inability of the Third Reich to produce in quantity, and in a timely fashion, something that on paper, and in limited testing proved to be a most impressive weapon, though very tricky to fly. The A-12 training version was developed from the A-1 production aircraft to meet the demand after many accidents in the testing program..

Tamiya's kit of this uniquely-configured two-engined aircraft is just as good as everything they do these days, with superb detail everywhere you look. It's a big plane, too, with about twice the bulk of a Bf109, so be prepared to assign it plenty of shelf space! The extra cockpit adds an even further intriguing look to this aircraft.
