Tamiya has announced their second F-16 release: the Thunderbirds! As pretty much everyone knows by now, Tamiya's big Fighting Falcon set a new standard to measure models against when it was released. Now all that fantastic detail will be combined with the colorful scheme of one of the world's premier flight display teams. What could be better? Kit will faithfully duplicate the Block 32 used by the T-birds. Changes include Pratt & Whitney engine intake and nozzle (no engine parts, however), changes in landing gear and tires, change in side instrument panel in cockpit, change in wing tip rails from AMRAAM type to Sidewinders, ability to model with gear up, and will come with a stand for displaying aircraft in flight. Decals for both 2004 and 2005 pilots and crew will also be included. The external structural reinforcements on the spine will be duplicated on a special type of flexible film with thick ink. The pilot figure will also have changes to reflect the gear the T-Birds pilots wear in flight. Additional information is on the Tamiya site.
