With its great speed and maneuverability, the M8 Light Armored Car was used during WWII as an escort and reconnaissance vehicle. Armed with a 37mm M6 anti-tank gun in a fully rotating turret, the M8 also mounted the formidable M2 .50 cal machine and .30 cal machine gun. 8,523 units were produced between 1943 and 1945, and the type served with the armies of the Allied nations. The M8 would go on to serve with many armies around the world long after the end of WWII.
Tamiya's M8 features crisp detail, great fit, and a die-cast chassis. Markings are included for two vehicles, and a commander figure is included. Gun breech detail is included, as is a minimal turret interior (mostly the rotating basket). No hull interior detail is included.
