The Sd. Kfz. 2050/3 was one of the smaller German half track types that saw service during WWII. Weighing 5.8 tons and having a top speed of 60kph, it was useful in the reconnaissance and scouting role. Over 6,600 units were built, the most famous of which was Field Marshall Erwin Rommel's personal vehicle, "Greif."
Another fine release in Tamiya's ever-expanding universe of 1/48 armor kits. The detail is exquisite, with a finely recreated frame antenna, compartment floor and driver's seat, and injection-molded link-and-length tracks. A die-cast chassis part is included, which will be completely hidden after assembly. Also includes a Rommel figure plus two crew figures, and markings for Rommel's "Greif."
