The latest pride of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Forces is now a superb Tamiya kit. Deployed in March of 1998, this large (8,900 tons, 178m in length) multi-purpose landing ship can haul up to twenty tanks and 40 support vehicles in two huge cargo decks, plus hovercraft and helicopters (both of which are included in the kit!). Kit includes rear cargo deck interior detail. The rear cargo ramp can also be completed up or down.
