Based on the Porsche 930 introduced in 1975, the Turbo RSR Type 934 was developed to compete in the Group 4 GT category of FIA races. Equipped with a 2994cc flat-six turbo engine tweaked to produce 485 horsepower and 62kg/m of torque, the car came to dominate the production car racing scene throughout the world during the '70s in the hands of many private racing teams. Among these was the Jagermeister-sponsored Max Moritz Team, which fielded a Porsche Turbo RSR Type 934 dressed in a vibrant orange paint scheme. The team entered two cars, No.24 and No.25, for the 1976 World Championship 4th Round race at the Nurburgring, and they were driven by Derek Bell, Gunther Steckkonig, Reinhard Stenzel and Helmut Kelleners to 1st and 3rd place.
Tamiya's 1/12-scale, fully assembled premium display model of Porsche's classic Turbo RSR Type 934 is beautifully finished in the blazing orange of the Max Moritz Team livery. The race-spec body includes a front bumper spoiler, wide fenders, and a faithfully reproduced rear wing. The doors, front hood, and engine cover can all be opened to showcase the incredible details within. The precisely replicated flat-six engine is a work of art in itself! Also features a workable front and rear coil spring suspension for added realism. Front wheels are positionable (NOTE: Previous reports from Tamiya had erroneously indicated that the wheels turn with steering wheel input. The front wheels are indeed positionable, but they are not connected to the steering wheel.). Includes a mirror-surfaced display base. This big gleaming Porsche isn't cheap, but it is masterfully crafted, incredibly detailed, and a fitting tribute to the iconic Porsche legend!
