During WWII, the British recognized that the US-built M4 Sherman's greatest weakness was its 75mm main gun, and sought to solve that problem by installing the powerful high-velocity 17-pounder gun in a slightly modified turret. This gun gave the Sherman Firefly the firepower it needed to take on the powerful German armor it would encounter in the field.

Tasca's new Sherman Firefly VC kit isn't the first kit of this vehicle available in 1/35 scale, but it's certainly the best!
