Product Description

This item is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

A detailed kit from Special Hobby with all the parts needed to build either a C-33 or a C-39 transport. These types were built to US Army specifications and represent "stepping stone" variants bridging the gap between the Douglas DC-2 and DC-3, with the C-33 being closer to a DC-2 and the C-39 being closer to the DC-3; however, both types are still distinct from either civil model. A lot of parts are provided that are specific to one or the other variant, so care during assembly is a must--read the instructions carefully! Decals are given for two of each type: For the C-33 there is the natural metal "KD10" and the camouflaged "6072," while for the C-39 there is the natural metal "16" of the Middletown (PA) Air Depot and the camoflaged "62TG20" of the 62nd Transport Group, Oakland.
