The Legend of Ultraman

This great 48-page book salutes the legend that is Ultraman. The Ultra legend began in 1966 with the Twilight Zone-ish TV show Ultra Q, which featured kaiju (giant monsters) but no giant heroes. Following the success of Ultra Q, Ultraman began airing that same year. Now Ultraman is celebrating his 40th anniversary in television and movies and enjoying his status as an international icon. The Ultra series is still going strong 40 years on, with the broadcast of Ultraman Mebius. Full of color and black-and-white photos, many from behind the scenes, this book outlines all of the original Ultraman's powers and enemy kaiju, as well as the Science Patrol and their vehicles and weapons. Includes a listing of all 39 episodes with detailed synopses of key episodes. Interviews with designers, artists, and kaiju crafters are also included.
