The IJN destroyer Ayanami was completed in 1930, the eleventh Fubuki-class destroyer built. The Ayanami participated in many naval engagements, sinking several Allied warships before being indirectly destroyed herself by the battleship USS Washington during the battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. Typically crisp molding and great detail are Pit-Road standards, and both qualities are very apparent in this great little kit. Can be built either full-hull or waterline, and includes decals for the Ayanami and her sister ship, the Sagiri. This special version of Pit-Road's excellent kit includes a nice fret of photo-etched metal detail parts.
