Pit Road has been collaborating with Trumpeter and this time they have produced post-war Japanese MBTs in 1/72 scale. These are the first injection model kits produced accurately in this scale (the ones from Fujimi were a little bit smaller -- 1/76 scale). These kits benefit from today's sophisticated computer-assisted design and machining. Every part is tooled like an accurate reduction of the 1/35 scale kit. Great care will be required when cutting the tiny, thin parts from the gates on the sprue. The second in the series is the Type 74 MBT -- still the mainstay of JGSDF tank force. The lower hull is injected in one piece with the complicated suspensions made with sliding molds. Several optional parts like a 105mm gun barrel with thermal jacket, fording equipment, and battle simulator are prepared -- modeler's choice. The 105mm gun barrel is injected in one piece with the muzzle opened. One decal sheet with a variety of colorful insignias is included. Tracks are rubber belt type. Two figures are included. This release includes extra JGSDF unit markings. Includes exploded-view pictorial-type instructions, with some notes in English and Japanese.
