The Japan Coast Guard's patrol vessel Satsuma was built in 1999, and is the sixth of the Erimo class rescue ships, fitted with cutting-edge rescue gear as well as being armed with 35mm and 20mm machine cannons. The redesigned rear deck can also handle larger helicopters, such as the Super Puma (kit includes one Bell 212 and one Super Puma). This ship has been featured in the hit Japanese movies and TV shows "Umizaru." Pit-Road's 1/700 scale kit is sharply molded in white styrene and includes a nice decal sheet of Japan Coast Guard markings. Can be built full-hull or waterline. This is a "Special Version," featuring a nice fret of photo-etched detail parts.
