1/48 Tachikawa K5Y-2 Type 93 Trainer Seaplane

A prepainted, partially assembled kit of the floatplane version of Japan's primary trainer during WW2. Nicknamed the "Akatombo" (red dragonfly) for its color, the fact it was a biplane and the fact that it was often seen flying lazy circles around the training field (like a dragonfly), the plane has achieved near-legendary status among Japanese airplane fans. Made of diecast metal and plastic, this kit requires only relatively minor assembly to complete, and the orange-yellow scheme will make a colorful addition to your shelf.
