This is the IJA version of MDGPH-02: IJN Air Units Battlefield Photograph Collection. You will find lots of never-before-seen photos. It traces chronologically the history of IJA aviation from its start in the early 1940's to the end of WWII. The photos feature not only famous fighters like Nate, Oscar, Tojo, Tony and Frank, but also the recons and bombers. The special feature differentiating this photo book from others is the human element. Maintenance scenes of the ground staff, especially the variety of equipment like starter trucks and landing light trucks, is very interesting. Also the color illustrations of various fighter squadron markings, camouflage scheme and flight uniforms are included. Just like the IJN version, a 1/100 scale pre-painted kit is included (in this case a Ki 43-II Oscar -- who put an end to the never shot-down legendary B-24 heavy bomber).
