Product Overview:

This item is a Japanese-language book or magazine about aircraft and/or aircraft modeling. Some Japanese aircraft books, such as the Aero Detail series contain complete English text as well. See the product description below for details. 127 pages.

Other Japanese publishers have released a number of photo collections of IJN aircraft, but this one is unique for a couple of reasons: (1) There are English captions for all the photos (written by HLJ's Scott T. Hards), and (2) The photos have a more human element to them than many books. You'll see 238 b/w photos featuring the aircraft, and the men, of the IJN, with a good dose of never-before-seen photos of seaplanes and seaplane operations, and candid shots of the men of the IJN. Of course there are plenty of shots of Zeros, Bettys, Jills and other famous IJN aircraft, too. Book is arranged chronologically by the progression of the war, and by theater. What's more, it comes with a pre-painted 1/100 scale Zero 52 kit (Rabaul markings; minor assembly required). Highly recommended for anyone interested in the history of the air war in the Pacific.
