Originally developed as a high-speed mail carrier in the 1930's, the SM. 79 I Serie made a name for itself as a bomber, and particularly as a torpedo bomber, where it was quite successful against Allied shipping during WWII. Its three-engine design and hump-backed silhouette make this Italian aircraft hard to forget. Italeri offers the SM. 79 in 1/72 scale, with markings for four aircraft.
