1/72 Focke-Wulf Fw189A-1 Uhu
Code: ITA1239![]() |
Italeri reissue of the Condor kit. This kit features fine recessed panel lines, nicely done "fabric" texturing on the control surfaces, and an impressively well-detailed cockpit. Having built this kit myself, I can tell you that while not a "shake and bake" kit, it assembles pretty well considering its limited-run origins, and makes for an attractive model. Just be careful of the wing dihedral outboard of the booms. The kit has none, while the Uhu had a noticeable dihedral to its outer wing panels. Inserting a shim between the booms and the lower outer wing panel will fix this, and the separate kit fairings for this area will help hide the seam quite nicely. Decals are included for 4 aircraft, 3 German planes, one with white winter overspray, and one Hungarian. The paint instructions are a little vague - both white and yellow are shown as white areas in the drawings! Some research is in order when painting, I'm afraid.
