Assembly Guide:Skill LevelCement (Y/N)Paint (Y/N)
Product Overview:This item is an injection-plastic ship model kit. It requires both cement and painting to complete or use.

The IJN aircraft carrier Akagi is best known for its role as the flagship of the carrier force in the attack on Pearl Harbor and its later sinking at the Battle of Midway. This all-newly-tooled waterline model kit from Hasegawa presents a little-known pre-war version of the famous carrier, when it was fitted with twin 8-inch gun turrets up front and three levels of flight decks. Hasegawa's kit can be built in one of two triple-decked versions: the early type (1927-1934) or the mid type (1934-1935). Sharply molded in gray styrene, this kit's detail and accuracy are outstanding. Includes six Type 13 Model 12 Carrier Attack Bombers and six Type 90 Carrier Fighters. Decals are included for both versions of the Akagi, the entire air wing, and a nameplate in Japanese. A very interesting look at a period in time when the role of the aircraft carrier was not yet fully defined.
