For the new fiscal year of 2006, Hasegawa had announced that they would focus more on Japanese items. As their first offering, the 1/350 Yukikaze was announced at 2006 Shizuoka Hobby show, and it is available at HLJ now!
Rather than focusing on loads of super detail parts, which is becoming more common lately, Hasegawa focused on the "Fun to Build" aspect. You may be surprised at how few sprues are in the box. It says "finish me in a day," rather than "I'm a massive project." But when completed, however, this kit holds it own with more involved kits. This kit represents the Yukikaze in 1940. First lot includes a 1/350th scale Emily Type 2 flying boat in clear plastic.
