Description

This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.

Developed to contend with new race rules in 1958 limiting engine size to three liters, the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa featured a water-cooled 2953cc V-12 engine producing 300 horsepower. The new Testa Rossa (Italian for "redhead") won the 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans race for the first time in five years for Ferrari, and also won the Sports Car World Championship for them for a third year in a row.

And here's Hasegawa's kit of that Le Mans-winning car! Fully licensed by Ferrari and featuring complete engine detail with removable hood, stunning one-piece chrome-plated wire wheels, and accurate shapes and proportions all around, this is the 1958 Le Mans version of the Testa Rossa. The body is molded in white, with the interior, chassis, suspension, and engine components molded in black. Decals are provided for dashboard gauges, seat belts, exterior emblems, and a variety of racing numbers, with marking and painting instructions for four different Le Mans cars (cars #22, #58, #16, and #17) and one Buenos Aeries 1,000-Kilometer Race car (car #26). This kit also includes a fret of photo-etched metal detail parts and a vinyl sheet for seat belts and mud guards. A magnificent kit of a fantastic classic racing Ferrari!
