The Russian Oscar II-class submarine is one of Russia's largest and most capable submarines. A total of 11 Oscar II subs were built, with three having been decommissioned, and one, the Kursk, having been sunk in a tragic accident. The Oscar II-class subs are capable of carrying 24 SS-N-19 cruise missiles, each with a range of 550 kilometers. At present, two Oscar IIs are in service with the Northern Fleet and five with the Pacific Fleet.
This new Oscar II-class sub from Hobby Boss is sharply molded in gray styrene, and includes a nice black plastic stand with printed name. Features retracted or deployed sensor array on the conning tower and extended or retracted forward dive planes. Decals are included.
