In the face of the re-armament of Nazi Germany, the French decided to develop light tanks to assist their infantry in 1935. 1500 Renault R-35 were produced before the German invasion in 1940 and became the mainstay of the French tank force. But they were defeated due to the tank's poor mechanical reliability and in the face of the German's superior tank tactics. Heller's kit is an old soldier of 1970's origin. Moldings are of the standard of that time. There are a few difficult points to build up but none are impossible. Tracks are of the rubber band type but have no molds on the reverse side. Replacement with the track link set (MDKSK-39) from ModelKasten is recommended. Also a set of 25mm anti-tank gun, the formidable threat for the thinly arnored German Panzers of the early war, is included, too. Two tank crew and three AT gunner figures are included. Two strings of copper chains for towing chain are included, as well.
