1/35 Flakpanzer V Coelian

Air defense has been a key factor for ground troops in every army, since the start of the deployment of combat aircraft in WWI. The German Army's precious tank troops were threatened by the Allied ground attackers in the middle of WWII. They required AA guns with sufficient mobility to guard tank toops. Coelian, the twin 3.7cm SPAAG, was developed in the same line as the Panther tank. The Coelian never went beyond the mock-up stage, but its impressive appearance has attracted many modelers. Gunze has re-released their Coelian SPAAG with beautiful, dramatic box art by Yoshiyuki Takani. The hull is from Gunze's original Panther G kit, originally sold in their "High-Tech"series (which developed a high reputation in the late 1980s). The enclosed AA gun turret parts are very well-molded, too, and certainly capture the characteristic design of this turret. Track links are the individual track link type, made of injection plastic.
