It's mail call during a lull in battle and this crew is reading letters from home. The expressions are perfect and tell the story.
Sculptor Yoshitaka Hirano has a great talent in finding the subtle details. Each character is unique and the expression and pose convey a lot. He isn't afraid to have a figure in uniform who is a bit out of shape with a beer belly. Faces, uniforms, everything is perfectly rendered. There are few sets as well done as this one.
