Designated an important cultural property of Japan, the "Tahou Tower" is a distinctive structure, part of the "Daijuji" temple, built over 400 years ago by the Matsudaira family, ancestors to Tokugawa Ieyasu. Its fame is largely due to Ieyasu's favouring the temple (he was convinced there by a priest not to commit suicide, but to "pursue the peaceful world"), but its structure is in itself graceful and unique, and considered one of the most beautiful pagodas ever built. It consists of two structures -- one square, one circular -- both beautifully represented in this injection-plastic kit. The kit is unpainted, and will require glue to assemble. The cables attaching the "Sorin" (the 'rod' at the top of the tower) are not included.
