1/700 IJN DD Akizuki w/Photo-Etched by Fujimi

Product Description
This item is an injection-plastic ship model kit.  Click here for sizing chart.
Often misidentified as a cruiser, the Akizuki ("Autumn Moon") class was the largest and arguably most successful class of destroyers in the IJN fleet, trading torpedo firepower for much-needed AA firepower in a hull 50 feet longer and 700 tons heavier than its closest rivals. The Akizuki was sunk by the US submarine Halibut at the Battle of Cape Engano on October 25, 1944. Fujimi's Sea Way Model DX Version Grade-Up kit (whew!) is sharply molded in dark gray plastic and includes a nice fret of photo-etched parts for the masts, radar, and AA guns. Labeled "For advanced modelers," but any modeler with a few kits under his/her belt and experience with PE should have no problems with it. Add this great destroyer to your 1/700 IJN collection today!
