From the excellent Japanese sci-fi film "Kaitei Gunkan," this is the Atragon (known as the Gohten-Go in Japanese), the incredibly powerful weapon for justice that was ultimately used to save Japan from the evil Mu Empire after the second World War!
This kit is a diorama in a box; it includes not just the Atragon but its dock as well (the dock is also available separately; see link below). The detail is excellent and crisply molded. The parts are molded in gray and red plastic, but paint would definitely improve the appearance.
