With this item, Doyusha has really produced a winner in terms of "cost-performance." For less than 20,000 yen, you get a huge-scale Abrams M1A1 (a whopping 63cm long and 23cm wide) that is ready to chase your dog around the house right out of the box. And it reproduces all the motions of the real thing, too, including forward, backward and turn-in-place on its rubber belt-type tracks (can climb a 35-degree slope), left and right turret rotation, barrel elevation, and firing of the main gun (sound and flash effect, with barrel recoil) and shooting its forward machine gun. When you raise and lower the barrel of the main gun, the gunner on the top of the turret also fires his machine gun while moving left and right (sound here, too). The headlights and tail lights illuminate, too! Set comes with a rechargeable battery pack, recharger (designed for 100V, but will work in N. America, too) and radio (requires a 9V battery).
Now, to avoid confusion about this product, let's be honest. The tank itself, which is finished in a Gulf War scheme, is not the world's most accurate M1A1, nor is the motion and sound all that true to the real thing. If you want the perfect R/C tank, grab Tamiya's Tiger I. But if you want to have a lot of fun at a reasonable price, or you don't want to assemble or paint anything, Doyusha's Abrams cannot be beat!
