Traditionally, a mikoshi is a vehicle used to transport a god from his temple or shrine. Decorated mikoshi, carried by many men, can commonly be seen during seaonsal festivals everywhere in Japan. The crimson colored body is gorgeously-decorated with many shiny golden metal parts and beautifully-colored laces. On top of the roof, the sacred phoenix is located.
