1/32 Kawasaki N1K2-J Shiden-Kai (George)

A virtually unknown, big-scale tooling of the George surfaces over at Doyusha. This kit was previously marketed by Tomy, but nobody seems to be able to remember when.

Don't let that scare you off, however. The detail, particularly on the main exterior surfaces, is surprisingly good, with nicely recessed panel lines and rivets throughout. The cockpit, engine and landing gear struts are a bit weak, but otherwise, if you're looking for a nice big kit that will build up easily into a pretty good-looking George, you've just found it.
