1/35 M4A3 Sherman 105mm HVSS

Shermans appeared in many variations since their introduction in WWII. Dragon's new kit depicts an M4A3 105mm Howitzer turreted Sherman with HVSS suspension.

This kit recycles some parts from other recent releases, such as the complex horizontal volute spring suspension that includes metal springs and shock absorber tubes. All tires are separate parts and the road wheels and idlers are fully detailed on both sides. Late-style T80 steel chevron tracks are provided as Dragon Styrene belts, complete with hollow guide horn detail (individual guide horns are molded separately). Also included is a fret of PE for the fenders (fender support brackets are plastic), the light and periscope guards, and other details. The grouser covers are still molded on (this version should not have them), but Dragon again simply instructs the modeler to just shave them off. Easy fix! Turret and transmission cover features nicely molded cast texture, and the 105mm gun tube is rendered with a hollow muzzle thanks to slide-mold technology. Periscopes and lights are molded in clear styrene. Very nice kit!
