1/35 King Tiger Henschel Turret w/Zimmerit

All right, it's about time someone started including the zimmerit anti-magnetic mine coating on these German armor kits! And that's exactly what Dragon has done with this excellent kit of the Tiger II with the so-called "Henschel turret." Dragon has been molding its 1/72 kits with zimmerit for years now, and 1/35 modelers have been begging for them to do it in 1/35 as well. And this is the beginning!

As with Dragon's other excellent Tiger II kits, this one features amazing detail throughout, including on-vehicle tools with or without molded-on clamps, a bonus aluminum main cannon barrel, metal tow cables with slide-molded cable heads, and tons of other sharply executed and entirely authentic details. Tracks are provided as indy-link Magic Tracks, which are already cleaned up and ready to snap together (glue is needed for permanent assembly). But the real star of this show is the new zimmerit, which is very realistically rendered on all surfaces that should have it. The kit also includes some zimmerit-coated parts for the so-called "Porsche turret" version of the Tiger II (mantlet, rear turret hatch), so it seems like we can expect that version, too!
