Bandai's S.I.C. Vol.11 Side Machine & Kikaider set released back in 2001 was a real treat for fans, as it was the first S.I.C. entry to steer the line from making limited-mobility statues to producing high-quality, super-articulated "S.I.C."-ized action figures of characters from various tokusatsu shows. Now, six years later, here's a fantastic follow-up to the Side Machine & Kikaider set: the stunningly detailed Kikaider 01 & Double Machine! Also sculpted by Takayuki Takeya, this re-imagined version of Kikaider 01 from "Jinzo Ningen Kikaider" is impressively sculpted with hyper-realistic detailing and features improved articulation over its Kikaider predecessor. The solar-powered Kikaider 01 stands 18cm tall and contains die-cast metal parts as well as clear parts that showcase Kikaider 01's inner mechanisms. Accessories include his favorite trumpet, two pairs of optional hands, and a hidden machine gun that can be revealed by flipping down his right arm.

Equally impressive is Kikaider 01's motorcycle and sidecar, the Double Machine, that Kikaider 01 can ride (the Kikaider figure from S.I.C. Vol.11 can also tag along in the sidecar!). The Double Machine features fantastic mechanical detailing with clear parts to reveal the inner workings of the machine, working wheels, and is painted with subtle shading and weathering for a realistic finish. A statue accessory is also included; place Kikaider 01 inside to recreate the memorable scene where Kikaider 01 broke away from inside the statue!

The Side Machine & Kikaider set redefined the direction of the S.I.C. series; in turn, this set has raised the quality of the series even further with incredible attention to detail and significantly improved joints, making this one of the best figure and bike sets ever made! S.I.C. fans owe it to themselves to add this masterpiece to their collection!
