1/72 Mitsubishi Ki-109 Interceptor (Peggy)
Code: ARI53023 Series: Micro Ace 1/72 Aircraft![]() |
The Ki-109 was a limited-produciton "B-29 Killer" developed from the Ki-67 bomber. Twenty-two were built and delivered. A blunt, solid nose replaced the glass nose, and a Type 88 75mm cannon was mounted on the centerline with the barrel poking out the new nose. This kit is an older issue from Arii, and has a lot of features that today would be considered "toy-like": spinning props and wheels, retractable landing gear, movable flaps, ailerons and tail gun as well as an openable crew entry door. Interior detail is a bit basic, however not much will be readily visible through the framed canopy and a full crew is provided to fill the spaces. Two standing crew figures are also included. The two engine assemblies look pretty good for the scale. Decals are for 3 aircraft, one each from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd flights of the 107th Fighter Squadron, distinguished by the color of the "flying wedge" design on the rudder.
