First appearing in Gerry Anderson's theatrical release "Thunderbirds are GO" and later in the first episode of the TV show "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons," the gigantic Zero-X was a solar system exploration spaceship and the first manned craft to land on Mars. Produced by Miracle House and distributed in Japan by Aoshima, this large (38cm long with a 25cm wingspan) die-cast model of the Zero-X features detachable front and rear lifting bodies (wings), retractible landing gear with folding front wingtips, removable heat shield nosecone, deployable Martian Exploration Vehicle (MEV) with retractible working tracks, and a button-activated spring-loaded escape capsule. Also includes a display stand. This is the theatrical "Thunderbirds are GO" version, featuring a slightly different MEV and including a miniature figure of a "rock-based life form." (Aoshima uses the same "Captain Scarlet"-logo box for both the Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds versions of the Zero-X, with a round red-and-silver sticker that says "Movie Version: Thunderbirds" in Japanese on the front of the box for the Thunderbirds version; see the box image above.)
