Launched in April of 1922, the 5,500-ton displacement IJN Light Cruiser Nagara saw action during the invasion of the Philippines and Dutch East Indies, the Battle of Midway, and the Battle of the Solomon Islands. After participating in the evacuation of Guadalcanal, the Nagara mets its fate at the stern-launched torpedoes of the US sub Croaker, sinking in August of 1944.
Aoshima's kit of the Nagara features stunning detail, depicting the ship as it appeared in 1942. The full-hull kit includes photo-etched metal detail parts and other metal parts. Also includes a Type 98 reconnaissance seaplane. Don't miss the auxiliary photo-etched detail set, linked below!
