Along with the legendary GAZ-AA, the tough-as-nails ZIS-5 was the mainstay of the Soviet Army's supply hauling divisions from the 1930's to the 1950's. It's simple construction and maintenance regimen made it very reliable, and a favorite of cargo crews. Its production numbers are second to the GAZ-AA only. Alan's kit of the ZIS-5 comes with vinyl tires, a detailed engine, but no rear tarp cover. Russia built close to a million of these capable vehicles...don't you want to build at least one?
