The M3 Grant was the British version of the US M3 Lee, and is easily identified by its larger turret. The type was widely used in the North African campaign, where it fared well against the Panzer IIIs of the German Army.
Academy's new kit of the Grant was created the same way the actual tank was: with the addition of a new turret and other details to the basic M3 Lee kit. The long and short barrels of the Academy's Lee kit are here, plus a new counter-weighted barrel. A very nice feature is the nearly full interior (no engine room detail, however). One unfortunate point is that Academy went with the same slightly mis-proportioned bogey units as included in the Lee kit, rather than adding the much more accurate bogeys from the newer M7 Priest kit. Oh well! It's still a great kit of a very interesting tank, and a welcomed addition to the 1/35 world of Allied armor. Includes markings for two vehicles. No figures are included.
