A new-tool 1/72 F-16C kit from Academy. Significantly better in many ways than the long-in-the-tooth Hasegawa kit, this kit features well-detailed cockpit and landing gear straight from the box, optional parts for a smooth nose or either of two styles of IFF "bird slicers," optional ASPJ antennas, optional braking parachute housing for under the rudder, small-mouth intake with decently deep trunking, underwing and centerline drop tanks, two each AMRAAM, AIM-9M, AIM-9X, AGM-88, Towed Decoy System and GBU-31 JDAM, plus one each AN/ALQ-184 ECM pod, AN/AAQ-14 and AN/AAQ-13 targeting and navigation pods and AN/ASQ-213 HTS pod. The kit is single-seat specific, although gate marks on the sprues suggest that Academy has at least planned for a two-seat version. The canopy is molded correctly as a "double bubble," and is in tinted clear plastic. Decals are given to enable you to build any single-seat Korean Fighting Falcon.
