So, who said Tamiya wasn't interested in making 1/35 kits any more? Here's a great all-newly-tooled 1/35 armor release, and this time we're back to Russia! The WWII JS-II Russian heavy tank gave the German Army fits of frustration with its thick armor plating and powerful 122mm main gun. This kit of the JS-II will give armor modelers fits of joy, featuring all the things modelers love about Tamiya kits, such as sharp moldings, excellent fit, and easy-to-understand instructions. The tracks are provided as both one-piece flexible plastic belts and link-and-length injection-molded parts, so you can choose the method that suits you best. A wavy template is provided so you can easily replicate the trademark track sag so prominent on these tanks. Photo-etched metal detail parts are included for the engine deck grills. The characteristic rough texture of the cast metal surfaces is nicely reproduced, although it may be just a little on the light side for some modelers. Markings are included for four vehicles. Twine for the tow cables and two figures (a full figure of a commander and a half figure of the loader) round out the package. Oh, and the sponsons have floors! Tamiya fans out there will know and appreciate what I mean. More great 1/35-scale armor from Tamiya!
