The latest in Dragon/Cyber-Hobby's "Smart Kit" series is the Flakpanzer 38(t) "Gepard" fitted with the 2cm Flak 38 gun in an open-topped superstructure. Based on the well-used Czechoslovakian 38(t) tank chassis, this light anti-aircraft tank entered German service in 1944.
This high-detail, low-hassle kit features clever engineering and employs the latest in slide-mold technology to achieve the highest level of detail with the lowest number of parts. The philosophy here is "work smarter, not harder," catering to the OOTB modeler who wants a high fidelity of detail and accuracy without having to make a ton of modifications along the way. The kit still includes plenty of parts, to be sure, but the clever engineering means modelers will face fewer hurdles getting them all together. The easy-to-assemble Magic Track individual links are already cleaned up and are ready to be assembled, and feature accurate casting number detail on each link. Three frets of photo-etched detail parts are included, as are pre-folded photo-etched mesh parts for the Flak 38. Also has a full interior, including the engine--a big plus, since this is an open-topped vehicle. Decals by Cartograf are included with options for six vehicles. An excellent kit of an interesting vehicle, another variation of the 38(t) series from Dragon/Cyber-Hobby!
