This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Kubelwagen was a German military vehicle that was active in World War II. It was developed based on the Volkswagen, developed by Hitler's national car concept. An air-cooled horizontally opposed four-cylinder 985cc engine is mounted on the rear of a lightweight monocoque body. It was equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension using a torsion bar. Due to the car's light weight, it demonstrated excellent driving performance, including drivability on tough terrain even with two-wheel drive. It was formalized as the Kubelwagen Type 82 in 1938; more than 50,000 of this vehicle were produced by the end of the war. They were used on all fronts, and in addition, the German African Corps dispatched to North Africa used models modified to African specifications, such as low-pressure balloon tires.
This model kit from Dragon reproduces the basic Kubelwagen. The shape of its hull has been realistically reproduced, especially the characteristic ribbed body panels. The front wheels will be steerable after completion, and the front windshield can be folded down, just like on the real thing. The left and right front doors can be opened and closed by turning the door handles, too, and they can also be locked and unlocked. A folded canvas top is also included at the rear of the vehicle. This model kit's size makes it ideal for 1/6-scale action figures -- order yours today!
