Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Kongo-class guided missile destroyers are equipped with the advanced Aegis systems, and were based on the US Navy's Arleigh Burke class of destroyers. The type first entered Japanese service in 1993, with the first ship being the Kongo. Equipped with the latest electronics and weapons systems, the class is on the front line of Japanese defense.
This kit is a joint project between Pit-Road and Trumpeter, and can be built as a full-hull or waterline model. A nice stand with nameplate is included for the waterline version. Other features are a nicely detailed SH-60J helicopter molded in clear plastic and two frets of Lion Roar photo-etched metal detail parts for the railings. A large sheet of decals for the Kongo is also included.
