Kicking off the cavalcade of Bandai's upcoming products was the massive 60cm Jumbo Machinder Neo Mazinger Z, shown off in a custom hanger diorama! Sure to be a prized part of fans' collections around the globe, this hotly awaited release is coming this December for a retail price of 25,000 yen.
URBAN MATERIAL CHOGOKIN
Bandai's biggest, heaviest, and most expensive Mazinger Z figure to date! This posable 60cm behemoth is made of titanium, carbon and glass fibers, as well as aluminum. Fans of the iconic super robot will have dig deep into their pockets for this masterpiece, as its price tag is a hefty 2 million yen! The release date has yet to be announced--so there's time to start saving!
SOUL OF CHOGOKIN & SOUL OF POPYNICA
Attendees got to see firsthand an unpainted prototype of the newly announced SOC Daitarn 3! Planned for release sometime next year, it will be accompanied by Haran Banjou's Mach Patrol vehicle.
Slightly larger than its predecessor, the redesigned SOC Combattler V--coming in December for 17,800 yen--was showcased with its complete weaponry and accessories on display. Nearby was a painted prototype of the Nanbara Connection base, able to accomodate all five machines that combine to form the super robot! The Nanbara Connection will be offered separately, but details on price and release date have not yet been announced.
Golden fist of robot justice! There was no info given on this so we don't know yet what's planned for it, but it does look amazingly cool!
Two unforgettable Getters from "Shin Getter Robo" are getting the coveted Soul of Chogokin treatment! The mass-produced Getter Dragon (7,500 yen) is coming next month, and Getter 1 (7,800 yen) will follow in January.
Bandai showed off two painted prototypes of its highly anticipated Swordfish II! One had its wings folded for storage, while the other had its wings out and ready to take flight. Set to retail for 8,000 yen, this top-quality creation is sure be a hot collectible for "Cowboy Bebop" fans!
TAMASHII SPEC
The paranormal "god" will soon awaken in the form of a Tamashii Spec action figure! Based on its design in the "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance" anime movie, this high-grade 20cm figure will see a December release, with a retail price of 7,580 yen.
CHOGOKIN
Unveiled for the first time at the event, this poseable die-cast metal Chogokin figure of Super Evangelion is based on its design for the "Evangelion Anima" light novel serialized in "Dengeki Hobby" magazine. Its retail price and release date have not yet been announced.
Another exciting new product announcements was Bandai’s plan to release a die-cast metal Chogokin figure of Drossel, heroine of Disney’s "Fireball" animated CG show! No price or release date have been announced yet. Watch our site for more info!
Also on display were painted prototypes of Bandai's upcoming DX Chogokin Macross Quarter in both Cruiser and Attack modes. Not only is it incredibly detailed and transformable, but it'll also come packed with same-scale mini mecha figures including some Valkyries, two Koenig Monsters, a Queadluun-Rea, and a Vajra. Coming this December for a retail price of 19,800 yen.
VF HI-METAL
Basara's fiery red Valkyrie from "Macross 7" will start off Bandai's brand-new VF Hi-Metal series as a 1/100-scale fully transformable die-cast metal action figure! This 7,000-yen variable toy is coming in January.
GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE
The newly announced next entry in the exciting Gundam FIX Figuration Metal Composite series is Unicorn Gundam! Made of die-cast metal parts and plastic, it will be highly articulated and capable of switching between its Unicorn and Destroy modes. Watch for more info as we get it!
ARMOR PLUS
Another popular announcement at the event was the third entry in the Armor Plus lineup: the titular character from '90s anime series "Tekkaman Blade" (you might also know it as "Teknoman")! This ultra-poseable figure is planned for release in January 2010, for a retail price of 7,500 yen.
FORMANIA
This incredibly detailed Nu Gundam bust display piece will be the first entry in Bandai's new Formania series. An openable cockpit is just one of the many cool features planned for it. The price and release date haven't yet been determined--watch for more info as we get it!
SDX
Coming soon will be this highly anticipated SD figure of a powered-up Vassal Knight Gundam in shining white armor! Attendees finally got to see a painted prototype of the much-requested figure at the event. It's slated for December release, for 4,700 yen.
Capable of switching between normal and dragon modes, this gold-plated SDX Superior Dragon is sure to be a favorite among fans. Planned to retail for 6,000 yen, it's coming this month!
VF100s
Here's a prototype of Brera's personalized VF-27 Lucifer as a VF100s variable action figure! Its price and release date haven't yet been decided.
