Shizuoka Hobby Show 2009: Import Makers' Highlights
Italeri
Some fine new Italeri kits could be found in Tamiya's booth. Among them were these two to come:
1/72 Reggiane 2000 GA
1/48 Mirage III E
Revell
Nestled within Hasegawa's booth were an array of Revell offerings.
Aircraft, military, cars, ships...and more!
The boxtop of this new Ferrari model was on display.
The multi-piece body is separated front and back and left and right.
Labelled as "new," these are new re-releases of older kits.
Commanding some respectable space were the 1/48 B-17 and 1/32 Ju-88. These kits are huge!
This Predator boat is a fresh new offering for the Japanese market, never having been produced by a Japanese maker.
Dragon
Also found in Hasegawa's booth were these kits from Dragon.
These upcoming offerings were presented with the slogan "Dragon Armor Division to the East!"
Here's the main gun of a Jagdpanther, being used minus the Jagdpanther...!
The fighter plane that was developed from the Fw190D! This will be its first all-injection-plastic kit version in 1/48 scale.
Even the rivet patterns on its front portion and Zimmerit coating will be reproduced on this kit.
This glimpse of soldiers crossing a temporary bridge is a unique subject for a kit!
Cyber Hobby
Cyber Hobby is Dragon's brand for limited items.
In Japan, Cyber Hobby kits are distributed by Platz rather than Hasegawa, and so these goodies were in Platz's booth.
These upcoming offerings were presented with the slogan "Cyber Hobby Armor Division to the East!" (...hey, waiiit a minute...)
This is a ground-mounted version of the 88mm gun.
Not just the gun barrel but also the recoil cylinders are metal parts.
Here's the initial-production version of the Panzer III Ausf. J.
The kit will feature new engine deck parts.
Moebius Model
Moebius Model's acclaimed kits are being imported by Platz for the Japanese market.
Following up on their big-scale Seaview and Flying Sub, more conveniently-sized versions of those craft are on the way!
Marvel-ous kits of Iron Man and Spider-Man are planned, too.
Eduard
Beaver Corporation had kits from Czech manufacturer Eduard to show off.
Especially striking was the new 1/48 Fw190D9.
Eduard staff (the company head and his daughter?) demonstrated how to build this beauty.
Here's their 1/32 Messerschmitt. The way the engine, machine guns, and cockpit are constructed is extraordinary!
Also coming are detail parts galore for aircraft, military, and ships...even for areas that won't be visible after a kit is complete.
