Shizuoka Hobby Show 2009: Aoshima Highlights
Aoshima
This was Aoshima's area. Known for their Ita-sha scale models, they had an eye-grabber of an actual Ita-sha on display!
Ita-sha
Tiny cousins of the real one on display, check out these 1/64-scale mini-cars, all gussied up with "Lyrical Nanoha"-series graphics!
On the way will be a "Higurashi no Naku Koroni"-themed Ita-sha injection kit, but the exact design hasn't yet been revealed.
Ship Models
This kit will feature photo-etched parts in addition to 408 plastic parts. Total length 583mm, or just under 23 inches!
This 345-piece kit will portrait the Nagara as she appeared in 1942. Total length 463mm, or about 18 1/4 inches.
Photo-etch parts, sold separately, will heighten the detail even further!
Car Models
Joiing the Best Car GT line will be a brand-new kit of the 2007 Lancer Evolution X.
An option model, boasting BBS wheels, is also on the way!
Check out the traditional Toyota GRS204 Crown 3.0 Royal Saloon 2008...
...and the sporty Toyota GRS204 Crown 3.5 Athlete 2008!
It's great to see truck kits achieve this level of detail.
1/32 Mitsubishi Fuso Super Great Hybrid Insulated Truck
1/32 Isuzu Forward Flat Body
Each will come with a figure, pallet, and more.
Four types are planned:
Asaka Turret Truck
Nichiyu Eletruck
Nichiyu Platter & Pallet Set
Toyota L&F Geneo & Pallet Set
SF Models
A plastic kit of the iconic battle helicopter of the '80s is coming! Total length 220mm.
There'll be a limited version, too, decked out with a metal gatling gun.
The third-generation Arm Slave "M9" makes its Aoshima full-action plastic kit debut!
Tread, the booster unit for Legioss, is in the works!
This hefty mecha transforms to Armo-Bomber and Armo-Soldier modes, too.
Blue, red, and green versions are planned, for use with their respective Legioss.
From the second film in the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, Aoshima has the entry plug of EVA-02 in the works.
(The plug on display here isn't the final version, though--the design is expected to change once the movie opens next month.)
This isn't Sohryu Asuka Langley, by the way...her name is Shikinami Asuka Langley!
Shin Seiki Gohkin, plated injection kit, and action figure versions of the Endoskeleton will make a welcome return in renewal releases.
Slated for re-release next month, Aoshima's original colossal-sized classic kits Tiger Shark and Kyokan Yamato promise big fun!
Figures
Aoshima plans to launch its action figure series "mobip" in July!
First up will be the gals of "Little Busters!", followed in the fall by "Keion!" characters.
Nearing release are striking figures from "Hana no Keiji" and "Steel Ball Run."
