This year's 52nd edition of the Shizuoka Hobby Show was held May 16-19 at Twin Messe Shizuoka in Shizuoka, Japan. As always, the show focused on hobby products being released this spring and summer.

Bandai: Big news: Gundam 3.0! And how about a fully-transformable 1/72 VF-1A/S Valkyrie as a 30th Anniversary release? Using the latest technology, all the complex proportions are spot on, even with full transformability! In the RG 0083 series we're getting both the RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes and RX-78GP01Fb Gundam GP01 Full-Burnern! In the HGUC series we're getting the massive PMX-000 Messala from Zeta Gundam!
Tamiya: Yes! Tamiya has officially announced their next 1/32 aircraft kit, and it's the F4U-1 Corsair "Bird Cage"! For military modelers, the JGSDF Type 10 MBT is coming in 1/35 scale. Ships, you say? The US Navy Destroyer Hammann is coming in 1/700 scale. In the world of Mini 4WD, the Blast Arrow has been announced.
Aoshima: Interesting items from Aoshima include a 1/700 Gigant from the anime Mirai Shonen Conan! A newly-tooled Thunderbird 3 in 1/350 scale, plus new kits of the Sambar Truck and Nissan Gloria and Cedric Sedans.

Fine Molds: BIG NEWS! Finally, FINALLY, we're getting Darth Vader's TIE Fighter in 1/72 scale! Set for a July release. Also coming is a 1/20 "Girls und Panzer" 1/4 Ton 4X4 Truck (you know, a Jeep!). That's never actually been in the "Girls und Panzer" anime, but it should be!
